Your account

19 Aug 20264 min read

My account is where you see and change everything about your own account: your profile details, the daily check-in, notifications, and privacy. This guide walks through each of those.

My account groups everything into four tabs: General profile, Notifications, Calendar, and Privacy. On a phone it opens as a list of these four; on a wider screen they sit as tabs across the top. Connecting your calendar is covered elsewhere. This guide covers the other three, plus the daily check-in on Home.

General profile

Your photo, first name, and email are always shown. First name is required. Last name, gender, and both emergency contact fields are optional. Date of birth is required, since it is what opens every page of your account after you sign up, and your age is calculated and shown alongside it automatically.

Your email address cannot be changed. It stays fixed to whatever you signed up with.

A password field only appears if you signed up with email and password, not if you use Google. Changing it sends a 6-digit code to your email, no current password needed, then a new password meeting the usual rules: 8 or more characters, one capital letter, one number, and one special character.

Your timezone is detected automatically and can be changed. It is what your session times are shown in everywhere on Leshya.

General profile and Notifications share one Save changes button at the bottom, so editing either tab and pressing save updates both together.

The daily check-in

Once you have booked your first session, Home shows a daily check-in: five moods, Not great, Stressed, Anxious, Okay, and Calm, that you can tap once a day. It is private. Nobody but you sees it, not even your counselor. It exists to help Leshya personalize what it shows you. See all opens your full check-in history.

Notifications

A few notifications always reach you, with no toggle affecting them: booking confirmations, reschedule and cancellation confirmations, and payment notices. They are about your own booking, so they always arrive.

Email alerts, on by default, covers the rest of what goes to your inbox: session reminders, review requests, and the continuity notes described below. Turn it off and those stop arriving by email. The always-sent list above is unaffected.

Continuity reminders, also on by default, is about staying in touch with a counselor you have already seen. It covers two things: one note the day after a completed session if nothing else is booked with that counselor yet, and a note when your counselor suggests a time for your next session. Turning it off stops both of these on email and push, but it does not remove a suggested time your counselor already sent. That still shows at the top of My bookings for you to confirm whenever you want, whether or not this toggle is on.

24-hour and 1-hour reminders before a confirmed session go out by email and push automatically, unless Email alerts is off, in which case they only arrive by push, and only if you have turned that on too.

Notifications on this device is where push gets turned on. The first time, it asks your browser for permission. Once you say yes, it shows as Enabled and there is no separate Leshya switch to flip after that. Whether granted or blocked, real-time alerts work the same whether you are using Leshya in a browser tab or as the installed app, even when Leshya is not open. To turn push off later, do that from your browser or phone's own notification settings, not here.

Privacy

The Privacy tab shows your consent status: when you agreed, and what you agreed to, which is the nature of counseling on Leshya, and Leshya storing your responses and session records to run your sessions.

Withdraw consent does not cancel any session you have already booked. It means Leshya asks you to agree again before your next first session with a counselor, and your saved answers stay with your counselor unless you separately ask Leshya to remove them.

To correct or delete other information Leshya holds about you, write to support@leshya.app. A request like this is acknowledged within 48 hours and resolved within 15 days.

Gift cards

Gift cards are not tied to your account. Anyone holding the code can redeem it, so there is no gift card balance or history shown here. See our gift cards guide for how buying, redeeming, and the balance work.

What an account adds over booking as a guest

Booking never requires an account. Having one adds saved details, so you do not retype your name or emergency contact every time. It adds My bookings and Home, a dashboard with your upcoming session, booking history, and the daily check-in. It adds rescheduling and cancelling from a page, instead of only through a link in an email. It adds the notification and privacy controls covered here, and it adds Book again and reviews once a session with a counselor is done.
