A gift card lets you pay for counseling sessions on someone else's behalf. You pay Leshya online, and the person you are giving it to gets a code by email that they spend when booking a session.
The rules
A gift card can be bought for anywhere between ₹500 and ₹10,000, in steps of ₹100, and is valid for 12 months from the day payment is confirmed. Any balance left over stays on the code for future bookings until it is spent or the card expires.
If a session costs more than the balance on the card, the booking is blocked, and the recipient is asked to pick a session within their balance instead. Anyone holding the code can redeem it: a gift card is a bearer instrument, so no email match is needed.
A gift card can only ever become sessions on Leshya. Its value never converts to cash and cannot be moved to a bank account.
Buying a gift card
Go to the gift cards page. No account is needed. Choose an amount, add your name and email, the recipient's name and email, and an optional message of up to 280 characters.
Pay through the Razorpay payment link, which stays valid for 7 days. Once payment is confirmed, two emails go out automatically: the recipient gets the code, in the format LESH-XXXXXXXX, along with your message, and you get a receipt with a printable receipt link.
If the payment link expires or is cancelled before payment, the card is cancelled and nothing is charged.
Redeeming a gift card
The recipient picks a counselor and a slot as usual. On the booking details step, they open "Have a gift card?" and enter the code. Anyone holding the code can redeem it, so there is no email match to worry about.
If the session price fits the balance, the booking shows "Covered by your gift card" and confirms instantly. There is no separate payment step, and the counselor does not need to approve it. The session amount is deducted from the card, and anything left stays on the code for next time.
If something is off, the recipient sees a calm message explaining what happened, whether that is a code that cannot be found, a card whose payment has not been confirmed yet, an expired card, or a balance that does not cover the chosen session.
What the counselor sees
Gift-paid bookings arrive as confirmed and paid, with a note that it was paid with a Leshya gift card and will be settled with the counselor directly. These bookings never sit in a counselor's queue waiting for confirmation, and they count as earned revenue for the counselor, who is then paid through Leshya's regular withdrawal flow.
Cancellations
When a gift-paid booking is cancelled, whether by the counselor or by the customer through their cancellation link, the amount goes back onto the gift card automatically, and an exhausted card becomes active again.
