Creating a customer account

19 Aug 20264 min read

This guide covers how you create a Leshya account and reach your Home space. An account is optional. Our guest booking guide covers booking without one. Having an account adds saved details, booking history, rescheduling, cancellation, and notifications.

The flow

Sign up with your name, email, and password, or continue with Google. If you land on the sign-up page with no link pointing you there, you are asked first: a three-card picker for looking for support, counselor, or clinic, which states plainly that the account type cannot be changed later. Picking "I'm looking for support" opens the account form. A link that already knows the answer, like the post-booking prompt to create an account, skips that picker and opens the form straight away.

Next, verify your email with a 6-digit code sent to your inbox. The code works for 1 hour, and resend has a 30-second cooldown. If you sign in later with an unverified email, the code resends automatically instead of showing an error. Confirming the code sets your account type permanently as Customer. There is no separate choice screen after this, and using Leshya as a counselor too means creating a separate account with a different email.

Then enter your name, first and last. This is the name your counselor will see.

Complete your profile with a photo (optional, prefilled from Google if you used it), first and last name, date of birth, and gender. Date of birth is required and opens every customer page, and the copy explains that it helps match age-appropriate care.

Finally, you land on Home: a greeting, a 3-step setup checklist (create account, find your match, book your first session), a counselor preview, and support links. The daily mood check-in appears only after your first booking.

A welcome email and push notification go out as soon as your account is created.

If you are under 18

If your date of birth shows you are under 18, one extra required step appears before your profile completes: a self-harm screening question (yes or no), then parent or guardian details, name, relationship, phone number, and a consent checkbox confirming the guardian will manage bookings and can be contacted. A minor cannot name themselves as their own guardian.

Rules worth knowing

One email can only hold one role. An email already registered as a counselor cannot sign up as a customer, and vice versa.

Every customer page, Home, Find your match, My bookings, redirects you to complete your profile until your date of birth is saved. Signing in with Google without a completed profile routes you back there too.

If you booked as a guest before and later create an account, you use the same sign-up flow, and your past guest bookings stay reachable through the links in your emails.

What to do next

Our guide to booking a session covers the signed-in booking journey once your account is set up.
